      Snow crab : It symbolizes the Yeongdeok snow crab, one of the most famous marine products in Korea.

      White stripes : They symbolize the crystal-clear water of Oshipcheon and Songcheoncheon flowing through Yeongdeok-gun.

      Green : It symbolizes the clean air and beautiful mountains and streams of Yeongdeok-gun.

      Blue : It symbolizes the blue sea of Yeongdeok, the cleanest blue belt in the East Sea.

      • Peach blossom is the specialty of Yeongdeok-gun so that a peach blossom festival is held in the time of the full bloom every year, symbolizing pure and innocent mind of Yeongdeok people。

    • Bird of district (Gun) : Gull。

      • Gulls inhabit throughout the 64 ㎞ coastal area and symbolize the ceaseless jump toward dream, initiatives and lofty ideal。

    • Tree of District (Gun) : Japanese Black Pine。

      • It symbolizes tenacity, which can withstand strong sea breeze, strong vitality in the course soil and high spirit。
  • Fish of District (Gun)
    • Fish of District (Gun) : Golden sweetfish。

      • This fish inhabits throughout all areas of Yeongdeok-gun. Rich gold band is on the bottom of a gill. On account of it, this fish is distinguished from other sweetfish。
      • When eating with raw fish, it has the fragrance of watermelon or cucumber. From the ancient times, it has been referred to as noble fish under water or a young noble in the clear stream. It has been the representative fish of Yeongdeok-gun for a long overhaul as the precious specialty for offering to the king’s table。

    • Kinney and Tori

      • The characters of Yeongdeok snow crabs are recognized as the symbols of Yeongdeok by being designed and personified。
      • Kinney is the character which was born with the motif of the general, Shin Dol Seok, who was a leader of the Righteous Armies over the declining Joseon Dynasty in the early 20th century and a boastful figure of Yeongdeok。
      • It is the image of Yeongdeok, which is the seaside town, containing composure and smile, and life relief along with a tough spirit。
      • Tori is the pretty character with a wide smile, manifesting congenial feeling and happy life。
    • Yeongbogee and Deoksungee

      • We used the Yeongdeok peach, one of the local specialties, to express that, like a blossoming flower, we greet tourists with big smiles, the flowers of culture are blooming, and the fruits here are the sweetest。
      • ‘Yeongbogee’ and “Deoksungee’ come from the first syllables and second syllables of ‘Yeongdeok’ and ‘boksungah (peach)’ respectively。

      • It was invented from the English name; sweetfish to express golden sweetfish.
      • Design concept- the crown, created in the clearest water of Oshipcheon (stream), exhibiting the image of purity, and it expresses the golden sweetfish as the king of a school of sweetfish at the same time。
